As you may know, International Women’s Day is on Tuesday 8th March, a global day that celebrates the cultural, social, economic and political achievements of women.
We, at Bridgwater and Taunton Unite Community group, are planning an event in celebration of this day and we would welcome your organisation’s involvement. We are planning a display, both material and digital, of influential and inspirational women and we are asking for nominations from local organisations for women to include in the display.
The physical display will be on view at Bridgwater Library from the 7th March until the 12th March and the collated digital display will be available here on our website.
Together we hope to commemorate local and international women of renown and also raise awareness of the fight for women’s rights, both at home and around the world.
All we ask is that you tell us a woman who has been influential or had a positive impact on your organisation and the goals for which it stands. This person could be famous or unknown, local or international, living or dead – the choice is yours!
If you have any difficulties, please just send over the information and we can complete it on your behalf.
Please email submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday 29th February at the latest, sooner if you can, to give us time to prepare the display.
Please feel free to share this email and template with any members of your organisation who would like to nominate an important woman as individuals; or to any other organisations you think would be interested. The more replies we get, the better our display will be!
We thank you for your help in making Bridgwater’s International Women’s Day a great success.
